Terms of Service

Welcome to Bokker. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Bokker platform (the "Service") operated by Bokker ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

2. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Types of Users

3.1 Players

Players can search for and book courts, join teams, participate in tournaments, leave reviews, and use social features on the platform.

3.2 Court Owners

Court owners can list and manage sports courts, accept bookings, manage pricing and availability, create discounts, host tournaments, and access business analytics. Court owners are responsible for the accuracy of their court listings and availability.

4. Bookings & Payments

4.1 Booking Process

  • Bookings are confirmed upon successful submission through the platform.
  • You agree to arrive at the booked time and honor your reservation.
  • Court owners may mark no-shows for players who fail to appear for confirmed bookings.

4.2 Payment

  • Payment methods available include cash payment at the court and wallet balance. We may introduce additional payment methods (such as online card payments) in the future — these Terms will be updated before any new payment method becomes available.
  • Wallet balances can be used to pay for bookings. Wallet top-ups are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.
  • All prices are displayed in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) unless otherwise stated.

4.3 Cancellation & Refunds

For bookings paid via wallet, the following cancellation refund policy applies:

  • More than 24 hours before booking: 100% refund to wallet
  • 12 to 24 hours before booking: 75% refund to wallet
  • 6 to 12 hours before booking: 50% refund to wallet
  • Less than 6 hours before booking: No refund

For cash bookings, cancellation does not involve monetary transactions through the platform.

4.4 No-Show Policy

Repeated no-shows may result in restrictions on your ability to make bookings. You may dispute a no-show marking through the platform within a reasonable timeframe.

5. Platform Fees

Bokker may charge court owners a platform fee on bookings made through the platform. The current fee percentage is displayed in the court owner dashboard. We reserve the right to adjust platform fees with reasonable notice.

6. Tournaments

  • Tournament organizers are responsible for accurate tournament information, fair conduct, and adherence to stated rules.
  • Participants agree to abide by the tournament rules set by the organizer.
  • Bokker is not responsible for the outcome of tournaments, disputes between participants, or prize distribution.
  • Entry fees, if applicable, are managed between the organizer and participants.

7. Teams & Social Features

  • Team captains are responsible for managing their team membership and conduct.
  • Friend connections ("Bokkas") are mutual — both parties must accept the connection.
  • You agree not to harass, intimidate, or abuse other users through the platform's social features.

8. Reviews & User Content

  • You may leave reviews for courts you have booked. Reviews must be honest, relevant, and based on genuine experiences.
  • You must not post content that is defamatory, abusive, obscene, discriminatory, or violates any third party's rights.
  • We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms without notice.
  • By posting content, you grant Bokker a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content within the Service.

9. Ratings & Leaderboards

Player and team ratings are calculated automatically based on match results. Ratings are reset each season. Leaderboard rankings are provided for informational and competitive purposes and do not confer any rights or prizes unless explicitly stated in a tournament.

10. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or manipulate ratings
  • Provide false information in your profile, bookings, or reviews
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or platform systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service without permission
  • Manipulate match results, ratings, or leaderboard standings

11. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, content, and branding, is owned by Bokker and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our express written permission.

12. Limitation of Liability

  • Bokker acts as a platform connecting players and court owners. We are not responsible for the condition of courts, quality of facilities, or conduct of users.
  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Bokker in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • We are not liable for injuries sustained at any court booked through the platform.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bokker, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

14. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion:

  • Your personal information will be anonymized
  • Booking and financial records may be retained in anonymized form for legal and accounting purposes
  • Any remaining wallet balance should be used before account deletion as it cannot be recovered after deletion
  • Active bookings should be cancelled before account deletion
  • Team captaincy should be transferred before account deletion

15. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal action. Any legal proceedings shall be conducted in the courts of Sri Lanka.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
